Planning ahead for a roadtrip can massively reduce stress and of course free up time that would be otherwise spent worrying about what to cook for dinner or shopping for food while you are supposed to be on your holiday.
Whether you are roadtripping for an evening, a weekend, a week or even long haul, being prepared will make it far more enjoyable.
Just going away for one night for example entails a minimum of 2 meals and probably a snack in-case you don’t leave until 11 the following day. It is easy to throw a pack of hotdogs in a coolbox and pick up some bread buns on the way but if you are reading this site you probably know already that hotdogs are banned!
As this site builds I will create menu plans for the following roadtrips.
The Daytripper – 1 x afternoon snack, 1 x evening meal with wine pairing and 1 x breakfast.
The Great Date Night Escape – 1 x fancy pants glamorous dinner with starter and dessert with wine pairings. 1 x fancy pants breakfast and 1 x hangover snack
The Lazy Weekender – 1 x breakfast, 2 x lunches, 1 x evening meal with wine pairings and 2 x snacks.
The Triple Day Stay / The Long Weekender – 2 x breakfasts, 3 x lunches, 2 x evening meals with wine pairings and 2 snacks
The Long Haul – 6 x breakfasts, 7 x lunches and 6 evening meals with wine pairings.
I also want to bring you Coolbox Rules and how to have a great foodie weekend away on a tight budget.
Bear with me and feel free to send me suggestions of what you would like to try to cook in your campervan but never thought it was possible! I’ll give it a whirl and let you know how I get on!
Your feedback on these recipes can help everyone that enjoys this site, including yourself.
Tell me how you coped in your tiny campervan kitchen? What went right? what went wrong? Share the good, the bad and the ugly and help me improve the recipes, improve the step by step directions and bulk up the hints and tips for great cooking in a campervan.
I would love this to become a community, us camping foodies need to work together to displace the myth that a campervan kitchen can’t produce great food!
So, get cooking! Xx
